The instrumentation for this trio is Snare Drum with Suspended Cymbal; Four Concert Toms with Suspended Cymbal; and Four Timpani tuned to G-B-D-G. Intended for the intermediate to advanced student, this work is most appropriate for recital or adjudication.
Conflict
In 2012 HaMaR Percussion, who gave me my first opportunity by publishing three of my books, asked me to create a series of Percussion Ensemble works for the elementary to intermediate student. The works below are intended to introduce this student to performing chamber music with other percussionists. Moreover, being that these works do not exceed four players, they are also intended for students to learn how to perform without a conductor.
